Claude grows 306% in one quarter and wins 70% of enterprise deals
In January 2026, Claude recorded 203 million web visits. In April, it reached 824 million — 306% growth in a single quarter. For reference: ChatGPT took roughly two years to cover an equivalent trajectory. Claude is doing it in months.

Why enterprise prefers Claude
Three reasons appear consistently across market analyses:
Accuracy and hallucination reduction. In corporate environments with structured data, Claude has shown a lower rate of wrong answers delivered with false confidence. For support, legal analysis and compliance, the cost of an incorrect claim presented convincingly is too high.
Privacy posture. When OpenAI announced its Defense Department deal in February 2026, a segment of enterprise buyers unwilling to have their data transiting military infrastructure responded by migrating to Claude. It was a competitive opening that Anthropic capitalized on.
Cost-benefit at volume. For at-scale operations, Claude Sonnet and Haiku deliver near-top quality at a fraction of GPT-4o's cost. When a company processes hundreds of thousands of documents monthly, the per-token cost difference decides the entire architecture.
What this signals for the market
ChatGPT still dominates in individual use and brand recognition. But enterprise does not buy brand recognition — it buys measurable results, predictable cost and reliable support. These three items carry different weights by company, but Claude is better positioned on two of the three.
For anyone evaluating an AI platform today, the lesson is simple: test side by side with a real use case. The intuition that "ChatGPT is the most advanced" does not survive a controlled comparison on a specific business task.
